I'll be riding down to Grassroots this
Saturday, June 25, for service on my leaky final drive seal
and a new front tire. If anyone is interested in coming along,
I'd welcome the company. Keep in mind that I plan on leaving
EARLY in the morning to get there shortly after John opens up that
day. If anyone's interested, just let me know sometime before
then. Thanks!

CANNONBALL RUN 2 It took the mind of Kim Miles to come up with a way to improve my original idea of a "Cannonball Run". In addition to my first "Run" I'm planning a real race. Here's how it will come down. You'll receive a "Cannonball" e-mail notice to meet (probably some Sun. morning) at say Steak & Shake. All participants will kick in 2 or 3 bucks into a kitty. Sealed envelops will be passed out. Each envelope contains the same locations where a ticket is to be picked up. The locations will be scattered (and perhaps bizarre). The race to gather tickets from all locations will start when the word is give to open the envelopes at the same time. The first one back gets the kitty money for lunch bought by the losers. Who's game? dg |

Remember the ' 80s movie "Cannonball Run"? With just one
phone call to participants an illegal, all-out race started toward the
west coast. Well, this summer, say about mid Aug, what would you think
about meeting at Sonic on Burkhardt some Fri. or Sat. evening around
7:30 or so. At sunset we head on a night ride (legal, Sorry Chris) up
66 to Rocky Point. Come back KY 60 to Rockport, then back to E'ville
for coffee at Steak& Shake. We did something similar to this once
before and the cool night air was a refreshing change from riding in
the summer heat. Anyone interested in a "Cannonball Run"?
Send me some mail. dg

Every Sunday there is a BMW group that meets in Lavinia TN for breakfast @ Mama Judy's restaurant. 8 am buffet with Biscuits and gravy, grits and fried bologna. Yankee food too. Sometimes there are 30 or so there. South east of Milan about 15 miles. 200 miles run from Evansville. I go down a few times a year and will the first decent weekend. Only 150 miles for me so easy ride before breakfast. |

Kim, I just got a mass email from
Tri-State BMW in Cincinnati, OH. It looks like their open house
will be April 23, so if anyone can't make it on the 16th to
Louisville, this would be their chance to check out the new '05 lineup
and score some free food while they're at it. Thought you might
want to pass this on to the group.

I am going to fix some BBQ
sandwiches for the weekend of the Trail do Tears Rally (April 23,
2005). Not a huge blowout as in the past but just a small open house
with cokes and BBQ for the Saturday lunch crowd that comes in from the
rally.

All right ladies (and Gentlemen), it's your turn. Never get a chance to go shopping on the motorcycle trips? How does 450 miles of yard sales sound to you. That's right, from Chattanooga, TN to Covington, KY it's the "World's Longest Yard Sale". The dates are Aug.4-Aug.7 and it runs the entire length of HWY 127. Lots to see along the route. See details at www.127sale.com . Make plans now. Later, David |
